Nicolas Cage has starred in action films for decades, and with so many titles under his belt, perhaps it was only a matter of time before his work on one of these films caught up with him. According to media reports, Cage broke his ankle while shooting his latest film in Sofia, Bulgaria. The film, entitled “#211,” stars Cage as a police officer who attempts to foil a bank robbery.
While Cage was initially treated at a hospital in Sofia, he was eventually transported back to Los Angeles for further treatment. Reports have speculated that he had surgery on the ankle.
Production on the film has reportedly been delayed due to Cage’s injury.
